About Ricochet Rats

The purpose of Ricochet Rats is to help maintain and keep improving Fancy rats in Ireland, especially the golden Siamese line. This means that Health and temperament is always the number one goal, with show quality markings coming a distant second. Ricochet Rats is not a pet shop and does not breed to order.

Ricochet rats is based in the beautiful Irish countryside, just 15 minutes drive from Cork city. The rats live in my home, in well enriched habitats in a ventilated and cosy ratty room. My name is Hannah and I am a member of the National Fancy Rat society (NFRS). I pay a small subscription free every year for the privilege. I have not registered my Rattery name yet, however I will in the future when I have been a member at NFRS for longer. NFRS do not endorse any Rattery, but I highly recommend being part of their community, as the wealth of knowledge I have learnt, and I am still learning every day is astounding. I am new to breeding and I couldn’t do this without the extremely kind mentoring from BongoFury rats https://www.facebook.com/bongofuryrats just up the road in Clonakility. I am very privileged to have my foundation rats from them. I am also lucky to have their friendship and ten plus years of breeding experience just a phone call away. All going well litters from Bongo Fury Spring, and Bongo Fury Sprite, should be born here around April 2022 time!

The name Ricochet was chosen because my girls are active! They ricochet off every surface in the ratty room during their free run times, always in search of adventure and fun. Never a dull moment with a ricochet rat!
